Silviya Mladenova is Associate Professor at the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski”, Bulgaria. She work in Branch Smolyan of the University. She received her PhD in Physical Anthropology from the University of Plovdiv. Much of her work is concerned with growth and development of children and adolescents, with focus on physical development, overweigh and obesity of children and adolescents.
Silviya Mladenovas’s research topics include transversal and longitudinal studies in the early childhood to young adulthood of physical development of contemporary generation of children , adolescents and young adults ,secular changes of physical development, sexual and dental maturity, changes in individual and group somatotype, assessment of body composition using anthropometrical and bioelectrical impedance analisys, screening studies on prevalence of cardiometabolic and behavioral risk factors among children and young adults inc. general and central obesity, prehypertension and hypertension, smoking, alcohol consumption, feeding, physical activity, as well as a influence of social and biological factors on the processes of growth and development.
