Dr. Zhang was awarded his doctorate in Pharmacology and Pharmacy from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and received his postdoctoral training in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Virginia. Dr. Zhang joined the faculty at Guangdong Medical University School of Pharmacy in 2012, since 2015 as Associate Professor. Dr. Zhang is recipient of the Talents of "Yangfan Plan" Award from Guangdong Province, China. His research interests include controls of bone cell differentiation; musculoskeletal tissue regeneration and tissue engineering; advanced drug carriers targeting bone marrow; and nanomaterial biocompatibility and toxicity. The Zhang lab takes an interdisciplinary approach including chemistry, pharmacy and biology, and employs a wide range of techniques.
