Biography

Dr Alessandro Venditti received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Biology after a Ph.D. program mainly focused on the study of secondary metabolites of plant origin by means of instrumental analytical methods. Previously he received the degree (Laurea) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology and the graduation as Industrial Chemistry Technician. He has developed a strong experience in the field of organic natural products. In particular for what concern their extraction and isolation from complex matrices and their molecular structure recognition through application of advanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance techniques. He has also experience in the synthesis and semi-synthesis of natural organic compounds. Author of over seventy publications in peer reviewed International Scientific Journals and of three patents. Peer Reviewer in several International Journals, among which: American Journal of Plant Sciences, Analytical Letters, Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, Cell Proliferation, Chemistry & Biodiversity, Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, Fitoterapia, Helvetica Chimica Acta, Industrial Crops and Products, International Journal of Food Properties, Journal of Food and Drug Analysis, Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, Letters in Drug Design & Discovery, Marine Drugs, Molecules, Natural Product Research, Pharmaceutical Biology, Phytochemistry Letters, Journal of Food Processing and Preservation.

Research Interest

Alessandro Venditti research interest are focused on the isolation and identification of new secondary metabolites and on the evaluation of their biological activities, together with their implications in human health, systematic (chemotaxonomy) and ecology.
